Online PR and Social Media for Associations and Not-for-Profits

Associations and Not-for-profits are different.  The need to keep multiple stakeholders engaged.  Limited resources.  And a (partly) volunteer workforce.  Social Media seems like a great solution, so you are likely already using it: your organization has a web site, may have a blog, and maybe even a Twitter account.  But is all of this giving you exposure?  Are you being called by media?  Has it resulted in an influx of new members... or new fundraising? And how are you doing in your search engine rankings?

Social Media is either a complete waste of time...
...or the most important plank of your marketing and PR strategy:

It all depends on your approach:
Online PR and Social Media for Experts, Authors, Consultants, and Speakers

  • Do you know how an Anchor and Outpost strategy can significantly increase your exposure – and your search engine ranking?
  • Do you know how to develop your own YouTube Channel?
  • Do you know how to update your "status" on all of the social networking sites (and Twitter) with one click?
  • Do you know how to protect your organization's name from Social Media identity theft?
  • Do you know how a pay-per-click advertising fits into the mix?
  • Do you know how Social Media can be used for professional development, events, fundraising, and member communication?
  • Do you know which PR sites you should join – and which you should not?
  • Do you know what goes on a Social Media press release, and how it is different than a standard one?
  • Do you know how to use Social Bookmarking to extend your time investment even further?
  • Do you know how to significantly cut down your maintenance time by using the hidden integration power of the social networks?
  • And much, much more!

Online PR and Social Media is written specifically for Associations and Not-for-Profits

Why we wrote this guidebook

Many of our clients have struggled with how to take advantage of Social Media to reach out to their audiences, often finding that the so-called experts didn't know much more than they did. We have seen, both for our own businesses, and the clients we serve, the impact an integrated social media strategy can have - especially when the implementation cost can be so low. While there are a number of books on social networking, there was nothing written specifically for Associations and Not-for-Profits, until now.
